Abstract
Transient osteoporosis of the hip is a rare disorder of unknown etiology that occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy and is characterized by pain and limitation of motion of the hip and by radiographic signs of marked unilateral or
bilateral
osteoporosis of the femoral head with preservation of the joint space.
The syndrome is not widely recognized perhaps because of its relative infrequency, and radiographs may be unrevealing early in its course.
Therefore, transient osteoporosis may be confused with a variety of other conditions.
We experienced a case of trasient osteoporosis of the hip in pregnant woman, which was complicated femoral neck fracture because authors didn't recognize this disease.
